Kathleen McCormack, M.S. Human Resource Development and Certified Gerontologist

Kathleen McCormackKathleen is president of Career Services Unlimited, a life transition coaching practice based on her more than twenty years of human resource development experience.  Her background includes recruiting, team building, career counseling, and training for companies like HealthPartners, General Electric, and Prudential Research Institute.
Kathleen founded the Stepping Stones program for Bucks County Community College’s mature students under a grant from the Pennsylvania Vocational Rehabilitation’s Displaced Homemakers program.  Stepping Stones provides life skills, study preparation skills, and access to community resources.  She currently serves as a Career Guide for the Tucson YWCA Works/ PHASE program.
Kathleen earned her masters in Human Resource Development at Georgia State University, where she also received a graduate level certificate in Gerontology.   She developed several workshops that were offered at Kennesaw State University: “ReTooling for Reentry”, “There is Employment after Relocation”, and “ReTooling for Teachers” in the Atlanta area.
She did her gerontology internship at a Shepherd Center in Atlanta that offers educational and outreach services to the community.   Kathleen applied her knowledge of gerontology for Aetna, Metropolitan Life, CIGNA, and Prudential Senior Care HMO when she developed training and educational programs for customer service staff and physicians.   She is on the Advisory Board of AgeLess, a non-profit that provides educational programs to Boomers and Beyond in the greater Atlanta area.
Kathleen recently authored “Tips for Creating your Second Career” and “Tips for Creating Your Own Retirement” with Amy Rust, and “Tips for Starting Your Own Business” (Capstone Legacies).   She is currently editing “Seasons of the Soul: Meditations for Caregivers” and “ReKindling Your Longterm Relationship”.

Lucy Read, B.S. Nursing and M.S. Human Services Administration

lucy150x160Lucy Read has a keen entrepreneurial spirit, a long-time admiration of Maggie Kuhn and her Gray Panthers group, and a varied background in healthcare, human services, business administration, training and consulting. With an undergraduate degree in Nursing from the University of Arizona, and a master’s in Human Services Administration from John Carroll University, she enjoyed nursing staff and supervisory positions in psychiatric, geriatric, public health, trauma care and education. She has contributed numerous articles to Occupational Health and Risk Management publications and developed training manuals for use by Alzheimer care providers. Lucy has also written handbooks for mental health professionals and volunteer directors to assist placing mentally disabled patients into transitional work opportunities. Moving from a role on a Board of Directors to a (staff) management position, Lucy designed a Hospice Home Care Program and supervised medical, nursing, clerical and social service staff. Not long ago, she rounded out her nursing career by developing an online Mentor Partnership Program for use by the 11,000 member constituency of the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses.
Lucy has been a guest speaker, team-builder, trainer and workshop facilitator for many non-profit groups, government agencies and professional associations.  Prior to returning to Tucson, she owned a medical supply business in Tampa, FL., serving governmental and occupational health markets across the country. After selling the company, she was retained on a consulting basis from a Tucson base.
For several years, Lucy was associated with a local training, consulting and teambuilding company. In 2006, she worked concurrently for The Microbusiness Advancement Center (on a SACI grant), designing the infrastructure for a volunteer program that supports small business owners and entrepreneurs in Tucson. One recent business venture involved a consulting role for United Way’s Transforming Retirement with Extended Life Options project along with current Retirement Planning workshops as a member of the Career Services Unlimited Team. Another current business venture relates to seniors maintaining their independence at home; she has created a 501 ( c) ( 3 )  Aging-in-Place program for her community, under the auspices of Neighbors Care Alliance at PCOA.

Deborah Knox, President of Life Transitions

Deborah Knox, Life Work TransitionsDeborah is co-author of Life Work Transitions.com:  Putting Your Spirit Online, (Butterworth Heinemann 2000) and President of Life Transitions. She has served as a Career and Outplacement Consultant to Polaroid Corporation, Qwest Communications and Monster.com. With over 30 years as a Career and Lifework consultant in the Greater Boston area and Tucson, AZ, Deborah is well informed of the issues facing  individuals in transitions and has been an enthusiastic supporter of programs from Civic Ventures (CA) which has highlighted the important trends facing the boomer generation.
She was a member of the Career Services Unlimited Team that provided research and consultation to the United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona’s guide, “Transforming Retirement with Extended Life Options,” 2007 – 2008. After relocating to Tucson in 2001, one of her first projects was coordinating a workshop sponsored by the Volunteer Center of Southern Arizona for non-profits to begin to identify special projects that would engage seniors in new and different ways. A follow-up workshop at Pima Community College was also delivered in 2002 for boomers looking to create new volunteer opportunities that reflect their skills and interests.
As a content expert for Monster.com she provided articles for Executives as well as their Self Assessment pages during the 1990’s. She had her own business, Deborah Knox and Associates in Boston, MA where she provided individual career counseling services to individuals as well as being an internal Career Development Consultant to Polaroid Corporation.   She developed and delivered five comprehensive outplacement workshops during the 90’s to that organization and served as a trainer/counselor at other Outplacement firms.
As former Client Services Manager at the Microbusiness Advancement Center she utilized a grant from the United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona to establish and develop a mentor volunteer program.  With funding from the Southern Arizona Compassion Initiative she built a network of over 50 volunteer mentors drawing on the resources of existing business owners, who are “ready to give back.”   She is a respected business advisor and coach to entrepreneurs and well connected in the business community as well as the social service sector.
Deborah has a BA from Elmira College, has done graduate work in Adult Education at Boston University and been trained through Coaches Training International during the 1990’s.  She served as the Director of the Women’s Business Center, an SBA funded program serving economically disadvantaged men and women who aspire to start or grow a business in Pima County since 2006.  Born in 1945 – she’s one year ahead of the pack and has been following and leading her cohort ever since.

Jere’ Webb, Certified Financial Planner

Jere WebbAlong with being a Certified Financial Planner, Jere also has the credentials of Chartered Life Underwriter and Fellow, Life Underwriters Training Counsel.  She has managed her own financial planning business for over 25 years and is licensed to offer many types of insurance and is a licensed stock broker.
She is founder and president of Webb Network, a financial planning firm which includes specialists in all types of insurance, a mortgage broker and a Medicare consultant.
Jere’ served on the board of the Russian River Chamber of Commerce and the Sonoma County Aids Foundation.  She is currently an active member of NAWBO, chairing their Public Policy activity group and a supporter ASBA and offers many seminars, workshops and classes covering all areas of financial planning. She is also Financial Expert for KOLD TV and conlumnist for Inside Tucson business.
Jere’ recently published her first book, teaching a step by step process to create a viable financial plan and then build wealth, “If You’re Going to Be a Bag Lady, Make it a Gucci”.
